Mason invites Miss Carlein to join him in a private audience. He tells her that his invitation is for two people. Eden cuts between and wants to talk to Mason alone.

The festivities are going on in great scale in CC's house. Mason offers to dance with Miss Carlein. She is not accepting but he simply takes her along. While dancing Mason tries to find out why Eden was objecting her so vehemently. Cruz offers to Eden a dance which ended in a solo of the two one. Mason tries to get out more from Suzan Carlein. She sends him for a glass of wine. CC wonders from where he knows her. He addresses her and tells her how much he loved his wife Sophia and he never married as he could not find a woman like her up to now. At the same time he shows her Gina.

Eden finds Sophia and draws her into a room trying to find out why she has left the family. She asks her why she did not go to the police after Lionel tried to kill her. She tells her that she has lost her memory for five years thereafter. She found herself in a madhouse and she could not even remember her own name. Eden is not sure if she can believe her incredible story. Ted rushes into the room calling Eden telling her that Mason is going to disturb the audience as he is totally drunk. Mason already has drawn the whole attention of the people by asking them to listen to him for a few minutes to what he has to tell. He makes a toast to the new wedded couple and then changing his mind goes away without telling what else he intended to say.

Cruz drives the couple to the hotel. Peter is waiting already in the lobby watching the couple arriving.

Nearly all have left the villa. Sophia is still there sitting in Kelly's room and pondering joyfully in the past. Eden is very upset that CC wants to marry Gina. She tells him that Gina only wants his money and his fame and she will not attend his wedding. CC wants her to understand him but is in vain. Mason is addressing Gina concerning her past as a bride of the boss of a gang making her feeling very uncomfortable. Miss Carlein is surprising CC in still being here. Mason offers her to bring her home. He asks her to stay for a moment as she will hear something which will be very interesting for her story. Miss Carlein asks him not to disturb the beauty of the day. She congratulates Gina and CC for their engagement and goes away.

Joe and Kelly have to wait till they can get into their suite. Warren comes in and wishes them the best while taking his room key and hiding himself in the room with the mirror. Joe is getting a little impatient and Kelly goes meanwhile to the toilet. A prostitute is coming in and addressing Joe who finds this very funny. Kelly comes back and Joe introduces this lady to her. They pack their things and go to their room making some fun about the situation with this woman.

Peter all the time is watching them. When he sees Joe with this prostitute he mistakes her as Kelly. When she is alone he takes her to his room. She is very cooperative and playing Kelly for him as long as he is paying well. She dresses herself in the silken bride dress which Peter has kept ready. He kisses her as if she is Kelly. When he is placing a white carnation into her hair she is a little bit hesitating and feeling uncomfortable but Peter is going on playing the romantic lover. He tells her that she can put in any music she likes into the recorder. Curious, she tries the tape with Veronica's shoutings. While wondering how real the voice sounds Peter kills her from the backside. Joe and Kelly lying already in the bed are hearing the shouts of this lady and inform immediately Cruz, the hotel security, etc. Joe runs to the room from where the shouts have come while Peter is leaving the place through the window with the recorder.

Eden meets Marcello and asks for the room of her mother. Marcello takes her to the presidential suite. Warren is watching and listening what they are saying. Eden has recognized him and wants to know why he was traveling once in the Orient Express with her. He tells her that Sophia was always watching their children and knew where they have been. She wanted him to take care of her. Eden does not believe him. She finds it too much that Sophia is playing now also the role of a contessa. Marcello corrects her by telling her that Sophia really is the contessa. That she was married to his father and he is her stepson. Eden gets totally shocked by this. Sophia enters the room and a strong dispute starts between the two by which Sophia asks Marcello to leave the room. Marcello opens the little room where Warren is listening. Warren tries to escape but Marcello is more quick and knocks him down and locks him up. Eden does not want to listen to Sophia any longer and runs away. Marcello enters Sophia's room again and asks her to follow him. He shows her the young Lockridge lying on the ground. He asks her what he should do with him. She tells him that he should let him go. She does not wonder about the mirror and the secret listener. This all fits so much together to Lionel. Warren tells them that he only was listening for a short while. They don't believe him but Sophia tells Warren that it is not in the sense of his father to call the police or make something public as Lionel otherwise will be a ruined man.

Mason can't keep back his secret any longer and tells CC that Lionel was with Sophia on the day of her death and that Lionel killed Sophia. He then leaves and CC is completely disturbed by this news. Gina has to go alone to bed.

Amy is brought to the hospital. Jeff is coming in quite happy that she might lose her child. He is making her again very upset and she asks the nurse to throw him out.

The nurse is telling her that she might have get operated by which she most probably will lose her child. Jackie is coming in trying to give her some help. Amy asks her to phone to Brick and tell him that she can't keep up their appointment. She should not tell him the real reason. Jackie is phoning from Amy's hospital room. Brick puts a lot of questions to her feeling that something must be wrong when Amy gets heavy cramps and shouts in the background. Jackie tells him the truth and asks him to come. Brick runs like mad bumping into Jeff. Jeff wants to hinder him to see Amy but he just goes into her room. Amy is very happy to see him but the nurse sends him out again. Jeff is talking to Brick telling him that she is anyway too young to have a child. Brick feeling that Jeff is only thinking of himself and wishes that she loses the child, and so knocks him down and beats him up. Jeff leaves the hospital. Brick gives Amy the peace she is in need of and she starts sleeping.

Eden tells Cruz that Sophia still lives and that it would be better when she would be dead. The phone rings. A desperate Joe tells Cruz that Kelly is not at home and a kind of fight must have happened. The local police is not ready to help.

Kelly wakes up in Peter's car finding herself bound hand and foot. Peter talks kindly to her promising her that they will be soon at their goal. He stops at an empty house. Kelly is with bare feet and her night gown. She pretends to lose consciousness and Peter puts her on the bed telling her that he will bring a blanket from the car. Kelly uses his absence to phone to Joe and inform him that Peter has driven her away for hours but she does not know where he has brought her. Joe informs Cruz and Cruz is questioning Peter's doctor again about his health condition by which he finds out the truth. Eden wants to join Cruz and they go together to see Joe. Cruz gets to know that Peter's car was at the airport and he has taken a flight under another name to the city near to Joe's place. He can't figure out how Peter has found out about this place. A policeman comes and reports that they have found out that Peter has rented a car and now at least they know the car they can search for.

Peter is tired and lies down next to Kelly. He starts sleeping and Kelly slowly makes her way to the door. All of a sudden Peter jumps up and steps before the door. Kelly tells him that she only is having a headache and she wanted to fetch some tablets. She tells him softly that he looks so tired an should take rest. Peter doesn't give in and takes out a white carnation adorning Kelly's hair with it. Then he put on her the perfume he loves.

Kelly takes out the carnation from her hair and tells Peter that his carnation is beautiful. Peter starts kissing her. When she mentions Joe's name he gets mad and rapes her. He sits with the towel by which he has killed all the other woman and considers killing her. Kelly opens her eyes and asks him why he is not doing it. He tells her that he is not able to do it. She asks him if he has not killed all the other women. Peter confirms but adds that it was not really he who killed them.

Joe is getting mad and shouts against Cruz because they let Peter go knowing that he is the killer and now he does not allow him to go behind him. When alone Cruz mentions to Eden that he can't let him go because he will kill Peter and he wants to hinder this. Cruz orders that the instruments for leading the helicopter action should be brought to their place as he wants to do it. He gives exact orders where they should search first.

Peter washes his face and gets hungry. Kelly suggests to go to eat together in a restaurant. Peter does not like this idea as she is wearing a night gown. He binds her on the bed. In the car he hears from the radio that they are searching for them.

Kelly tries to get rid of the rope. She manages to get a knife from the table but Peter returns and she quickly hides it under the blanket. Peter is asking her to dress up in the new dress and shoes he has brought for her. She asks him to turn around to surprise him with the new dress. While Peter shows her the back she tries to take the knife but Peter is too alert. She turns on the radio and asks him to dance with her but the radio is starting to bring the news that they are in search for the them. Peter switches the radio off. Kelly asks him to rest with her on her side. He lies next to her while her hand is on the knife.

Mason is sitting in a pub drinking. Miss Carlein who was searching for him is placing herself as if accidentally near him on the bar. She wants to find out what kind of conflict he is having with CC and all about Gina. Mason is happy to see her and takes a seat next to her. All of a sudden a police officer is coming in and informing Mason that Kelly was kidnapped by Peter, and Mason quickly gets up.

The helicopters are showing some success. They have found the rented car with a ladies' shoe in it. The three go at once to see this location. Eden can confirm the shoe as belonging to Kelly. She goes with Joe and asks all the shopkeepers about Peter showing them a picture. One shop-assistant can remember Peter shopping for his wife, and buying a dress and shoes. She also mentions that Peter told her that the name of his wife is Kelly.

Liz meets Mason just when she wants to leave CC's residence with her suitcase. Mason questions and warns her not to hide Warren. Warren sleeps and Liz starts to pint him. He wakes up and she insists in helping him till he finally agrees. He asks her to bring a note to the contessa.

Miss Carlein is phoning to Mason asking for Kelly. Mason invites her to the residence. At the residence Mason informs her that they have found the car with Kelly's shoe. Sophia forgets for a moment her role by telling that Kelly is strong and brave and she will manage it. Mason is getting suspicious. When Miss Carlein goes he phones and gives order to find out everything about a journalist called Miss Carlein.

Mason tells Miss Carlein that he knows that she is not a journalist and she should tell who she is. Lionel steps between and tells Mason that he is having no right to asks such questions. He is also not allowed to drop in during his audience. A little discussion goes on, Lionel gets excited and knocks Mason to the ground. Mason loses conciousness and Lionel wonders about his strong fist. Forgetting Mason for a while Lionel tells his version of what had happened on the day when Channing Jr. was killed. He was in Channing's room and searched for the material which showed that he was having a relationship to her and what Channing wanted to use to prove that he had killed his mother. He was locked up in this room and she could not see him under any circumstances. He heard a scream of somebody who found Channing shot dead but he could not get out. Sophia still does not believe him. Lionel asks her to go before Mason gains back his conciousness.

Mason gains back his conciousness and does not know any more what happened. Lionel is helpful in getting him up. He tells him that he slipped and was fell against the table. Mason does not believe this. He asks Lionel from where he knows the contessa and who she is. Lionel tells him that he should ask herself. Mason sends him back into prison and makes himself on the way to the presidential suite.

Minx does not like Brick's connection with Amy and she tries to tell him that he is not really loving her. Brick tells her that she can fire him if she likes but he knows that she needs him more than he her.

Sophia is trying to find out what happened at the time when Channing was killed and what Lionel told her. Mason knocks at the door. She quickly puts on the beautiful wig she uses for the role of the contessa. Mason makes his way into her appartment against her disapproval. He tells her that she looks much better in this role. She tells him that she is a journalist but just for a hobby. He tells her that he does not believe her a single word.

Kelly looks at the exploded and burning car. She runs to the car and sees Peter a lying a few steps away from it, motionless. She goes there to investigate his damaged body but the moment she starts to feel his heart Peter gets again hold of her. Kelly makes herself free and starts running.

Cruz, Joe and Eden are very frustrated as nothing is going on. Eden's nerves are getting weak and she freely lets her feeling and tears run in Cruz's arms. All of a sudden CC transmits that they are seeing a burning car. All the three want to start, but Joe tells them to stay for keeping contact with the helicopters. He jumps into the Jeep with a radio set and drives to the burning car. He gets out and seaches for Kelly. From far he sees Kelly. Kelly thinking it is Peter runs away. Joe runs behind her and it takes a while till Kelly recognizes that it is Joe calling for her. She falls exhausted and relieved into his arms. Joe sits down on a rock and comforts her.

Having no people in this area Cruz makes himself on the way to the camping wagon for investigation. He asks Eden to stay and asks all helicopters to concentrate in their area. Cruz starts to investigate carefully the camping wagon. He finds the power saw and the bloody ax. Eden radios to him and tells him how unhappy and lonely she feels and when he comes back. Cruz tells her that he somehow is sure that Kelly is still alive and he will be back in about one hour. While Cruz investigates further somebody opens the door. It is Eden. She tells him that she was no more able to stay alone. One of the radio operator has come and she has handed her duty over to him. She asks Cruz if he thinks that they have been here. Cruz nods and tells her all his conclusions. The radio set is asking for attention. It is CC telling that they have found both, Joe and Kelly and that they are on the way back. Eden full of joy embraces Cruz and starts kissing him. She tells him how wonderful he was through all this time.

They all find themselves in the house where Kelly was kept by Peter. Kelly is frightened by hearing that Peter is nowhere found. She finds he has to be killed as he is totally mad or at least in prison for his lifetime. They promise to search and find him now they know by sure it is Peter.

A young lady with black hair is driving a van and tells the man next to her how lucky he could be that she was just coming and giving him a lift. The man is Peter. She puts on the radio and hears that they are in search for a very dangerous man in the desert by giving Peter's description. She looks to Peter who looks at her.

Mason comes to Peter's apartment. Cruz shows him the letter. Strange feelings go through him when reading the line where Peter states that he can remember that he killed Veronica. More strange feelings are coming up when reading the line that he killed Channing. None of them had even suspected that it could be Peter. His father was so fixed on the idea that it must be Joe and Peter nearly married Kelly.

A jealous Augusta tries to find out from Lionel the truth about the countess. As Lionel is not ready to tell her, she forces her way to the countess in her suite and asks questions. Lionel manages to phone to her and asks her to see each other and discuss the reply they want to give to Augusta. The countess agrees and passes Augusta telling her that she knows which way is out.

Cruz, Eden, Kelly, Joe and Ted discuss the case in CC's residence. Ted jumps up and runs to see Laken.

Laken helps Jackie to carry some stuff to her home. Jackie loses a letter outside and starts searching for it when Ted enters the house and tells Laken that Lionel will be free as Peter has confessed to the murder of Channing. Laken in her first joy embraces Ted but then she tells him that he needs not to think that everything is now as before. He has broken her trust and their relationship is finished. She runs off to Lionel. Jackie Parks (Ted's teacher) comes in again and sees a broken Ted. She tells him to forget Laken as they both are not strong enough to go through these difficulties. Ted remembers having found a letter outside addressed to Jackie. Full of joy, Jackie opens it at once and starts reading the lines from her husband Larry who is at the Navy. He again cannot come to see her as he has caught the flu. Jackie is destroyed. Ted starts to counsel her and suggests to phone and get direct answers from the Navy. They both drive there. She is happy in getting to know that her husband has survived a poisoned water which killed two others. They both drive for some hot fast food as it is raining.

Cruz and Eden standing at the open fire in CC's library. A happy Cruz is inviting Eden to come to his boat but Eden tells him that she can't leave Kelly alone now, but he can stay with her. A phone call breaks their romance. Eden takes it and asks the person to see her in the library. It is Augusta. Cruz leaves the room. Augusta wants to find out from Eden who the countess is. Eden is telling her to be careful as the countess is indeed very dangerous for her and she should try to get her out of Santa Barbara. Augusta tells her that there is no reason to do so as she trusts Lionel. Eden replies that if she would then she would not have come to her. While talking to Augusta Eden again and again looks at the picture of Sophia until she finally takes it out and tears it into two pieces. Augusta is bewildered to see her handling the photo of her mother in this way. Eden goes out of the room telling her that she knows where to go out. Augusta looks at the photo and takes it along with her.

Joe and Kelly are at home. Joe tells her that the best thing they should do now is to continue their honeymoon but never separate for one minute again. Kelly is not in a good mood. She confesses to Joe that Peter raped her but she did not fight in fear he would kill her like the other women. Joe tells her not to feel guilty as he loves her and it is right in having acted like this and still being alive. Kelly falls asleep while Joe watches over her sleep. Kelly experiences in her dream again the brutal treatment she has gone through with Peter. When she experiences again the power saw she shouts and Joe wakes her up from her nightmare by embracing her. She is still frightened and tells Joe that she feels that Peter is still alive and behind her.

Augusta is upset that Mason has not set Lionel free. Mason tells her that there has a certain chain of paperwork to be gone through but she certainly can go and see Lionel. Then with a biting undertone he asks her why she is so eager to see Lionel after all his big line of women visitors. Wounded she asks him if he means the countess. Mason is surprised to hear that she knows about the countess and asks her what she knows about her. She tells him that she is on the way to find out. Happily Lionel receives her as his only one and dear and they start embrace and kiss each other. Mason comes in and tells Lionel that he has arranged in his own interest that he can leave from the back door. Lionel tells that he has come in from the front door and he will go out by the front door and Augusta should call all journalists to receive him. Mason stops his advance by mentioning that he should not overdo it as he would have still a list for which he can charge him.

Laken expects his father in all honor and full of joy with a little celebration she has arranged. Lionel enjoys all her arrangements and goes for a shower. Augusta takes out the picture of Sophia and in a flash she sees the countess before her eyes. She pastes the picture together and paints the hair of the countess around. She hardly can't believe that Sophia is still alive but she wants to find out.

CC tells Joe and Kelly that Peter was found dead and they don't have to fear anything. Joe and Kelly are relieved. CC asks them to stay this night in his house and have dinner with them but Joe and Kelly tell him they want to go home and be alone.

Mason checks the corpse and sees at once that it is not Peter. He gets upset with his officer that he could not see this by himself after having seen the picture. Mason drives quickly to the mansion to tell Kelly and Joe that the danger is not over. Mason searches for Joe and Kelly till he finds CC. CC tells him that they have left for their apartment. Mason got very upset and asks him how he could let them go when he told him that he has to wait till he gives confirmation that it is really Peter. That night somebody has broken into a armory and stolen a highly dangerous weapon and it was probably Peter. They are both in high danger and if something will happen to them it is his fault. CC is shocked and feels guilty. Mason gives the order to search for Joe and Kelly all over town and also sends somebody to their apartment. Mason uses the occasion to stir up their conflict by mentioning that he is only marrying Gina because of Brandon and if he has already told her the truth as it is a wonderful start for a marriage to hide such secrets. Mason brings CC to the point he nearly knocks him down but finally throws the door behind him in anger. The phone rings and it is Cruz for Mason. CC has to call Mason back. Cruz informs that the fingerprint clearly identified Peter in the weapon case. Joe and Kelly are in high danger.

Augusta when seeing the Contessa slowly leaves her place and takes place at the bar. She thinks over how she can hide this secret from Lionel. Sophia sits down and Marcello is taking a place next to her. She at once knows that he followed her and gives him the note she got for reading. Marcello asks her not to wait for this anonymous person as this always means difficulties. Sophia insists and wants to wait. Peter is sitting with Kelly in the same restaurant. Kelly is feeling very uneasy thinking that all the people are staring at her. Joe gets up and just when they want to leave the Contessa is seeing them and greeting them in joy. She introduces Marcello as her stepson and they politely shake hands and leave. Sophia asks Marcello who is an excellent psychiatrist what he thinks about Kelly. If she would be able to overcome this trauma. He explains exactly all the symptoms Kelly is having but is sure that with the help of her husband she will overcome her trauma. Sophia asks him if he could not go to CC and help her. Marcello refuses to go to CC and tells her that he has some urgent work to do. The moment he left Augusta takes a deep breath and sits down to talk with the Contessa. She tells her how sorry she feels about their last talk but she is extremely jealous. Now she feels different and she even could imagine to become friends.

Joe and Kelly are visiting his home to fetch some things. Amy is full of joy in seeing them and tells them that she is going to throw a party for them and they have to come. Kelly is afraid of people but Joe thinks it would be a good idea to have this change. Amy invites them for the late afternoon.

Peter is entering Joe and Kelly's apartment. He sprays all over their bed his favorite perfume and sits down waiting with his weapon for them.

Joe and Kelly meanwhile have a wonderful picnic at the beach and Kelly starts laughing again but when Joe starts making advances towards her she again feels uncomfortable and asks him to give her some time to overcome the recent events.

At Kelly's apartment, somebody knocks and Peter just wanted to open when somebody shouts through the door: 'Police, open the door'. Peter hides himself behind a curtain but the officer gets the order not to break in and only observe the house until they come.

Joe and Kelly come home. Kelly is again playful and asks Joe first to tell her the three secret words before she will open the door. Peter waits with the weapon inside. Joe finally tells her the secret words: 'I love you' and gives her a kiss. Kelly searches for the key and just when she wants to open the door Mason storms into the house and tells them that the danger is not over and they have to come back to the mansion. Kelly mentions that they are invited to Amy's and she has already bought all the things. Mason tells them that in this case he will give them police protection they should just quickly come into his car. Peter listens eagerly to this news behind the door. Nearly out of the house Joe asks Mason if he would mind if they fetch some things. Mason agrees and they enter the apartment. Kelly smells the perfume and finds the bottle. They are shocked to see that Peter has been in their apartment.

Augusta approaches CC in the Capwell hotel entrance. She wants to show him something. CC agrees to give her a few minutes. Sophia and Marcello sit at a table in the hall. Augusta leads CC to them. CC is not impressed and tells her that she need not to introduce the Contessa to him as they know each other already. The Contessa gets up and introduces Marcello, her stepson, to him. CC is in a hurry to arrange everything to find Joe and Kelly. The Contessa tells him that they have seen them not long ago in a restaurant. CC wants to phone and the Contessa goes behind him asking him if Marcello could not serve Kelly as a psychiatrist to overcome her experience. CC is not having his mind for the moment at this question and tells her that he first have to take care for their security and then they can talk over it. Augusta meanwhile talks to Marcello finding out his relation to the Contessa. She is talking and talking till she notices that Marcello is not listening to her and finally even lets her stand alone running over to the Contessa.

Peter rings Amy's door. She is not answering the bell as she is just cleaning the floor with earphones listening to some music. Finally she goes and opens. When seeing Peter she immediately closes the door but Peter makes his way in. Amy sits down and Peter also takes place at one of the easy chairs. He takes out the weapon and tells her that he is waiting for Kelly, his bride. Amy tells him that soon a lot of people will arrive and he should better go but Peter tells her that he came for her party and Kelly will be surely glad to see him.

Larry is lying on the floor and Kelly saves herself by hiding behind the cars. But Joe has also become a part of the party. Jackie is crying over Larry's body and Amy is supporting her. Peter can't stand to hear Jackie's lamenting and he asks her to stop it otherwise he will shoot her as well. The others tell him that Jackie is his wife and they cannot let him lay on the floor. Peter finally agrees that they carry him in the other room. He goes to check the room. Larry opens his eyes and tells Jackie that he is fine but she should go on giving Peter the impression that he is dead. All are carrying Larry to the room in the back while the door is kept open.

Warren hands over a letter to Minx. He tells her that he has found out that Brick is running their finances and he wants to know why. She could have the best financial manager and yet she has taken a simple man from the street. He wants to tell it to Lionel which she does not find a good idea. He asks her at least to give him the same chance as she has given to Brick.

Cruz has evacuated the neighbor house from where they can watch everything. Peter gives Cruz an ultimatum. Either he hands Kelly over within 15 minutes or he will shoot everyone. Kelly is desperate. She wants to go to him. Cruz does not allow this. A female police officer, Maggie Gillis, offers to go in disguise for Kelly. She was the best in shooting in her class and would like to get this chance. Cruz is asking the police station for a wig.

Mason starts talking to Peter. He asks him to let Amy go as she is pregnant. He knows from his own experience how it is to grow up without parents. He should give her child a chance. At least this child will get love. Mason makes his point and Peter lets Amy go.

Cruz sends Amy to the hospital. At the hospital a worried Warren is waiting while Liz is undergoing an operation. He meets Amy who desperately tells him what has happened. She finds herself guilty that she has gone leaving the others behind. Warren hugs and comforts her.

Larry who is only hurt asks Jackie to help him. She should draw the attention of Peter on her while he hides himself behind the door ready for attack. The others could also help he tells her.

Maggie gets ready. Cruz phones and tells Peter that Kelly is coming. Peter is full of joy in seeing her. She asks him to come to the car and drive away with him. Jackie gives a sign to Joe and Mason and they understand at once. Joe wants to do the start but Mason signs him that he will do it. Mason asks Peter to go out to Kelly since she is here now and he doesn't need them anymore. Peter opens the door with his automatic pistol. Maggie stumbles as before agreed with Cruz. She draws her pistol but for some reason does not shoot. Peter notices her pistol and fires.

Larry rushes forward with the others and gives Peter a knock. Being hurt by himself he has to let go of Peter while Joe grabs Peter and asks the others to run out quickly. Peter can make himself free and directs his pistol toward Joe. He is angry and tells Joe that it is his fault that Kelly shot at him. And now she is dead. Joe pacifies him by telling him that she might be well. He also tells him that he was not always thinking like now and he reminds him on his farewell letter where he has confessed the murder on the four women and Channing. The word Channing creates old thoughts in Peter and he gets upset. He asks Joe why he has come out of the prison and destroyed his luck with Kelly.

The others find themselves at Cruz's place. Maggie is only hurt on her arm. Kelly knowing that Joe is still inside loses her control and asks her why she did not shoot. Cruz tells her that one has to accept such failure and he tells Maggie that he will give a positive report so that she does not get into trouble. Cruz sends her and Larry to the hospital.

Eden comes and embraces Kelly telling her how happy she is that all are free now. Kelly informs her that this is not the case and Joe is still in the house. Cruz finds it not a good idea that Eden also has come but she insists on staying, and goes into the back room. Cruz asks where the psychologist is. Kelly wonders how a psychologist can help. The door opens and Marcello comes in. Cruz is surprised and the officer tells him that no others were available and this great psychologist has offered his help. He is the stepson of the Contessa. Eden watches Marcello from the other room and their eyes meet each other but she keeps silent. Cruz gives Marcello all the material available to them.

Peter fires his gun two times against Kelly and Joe jumps before Kelly in protection. Even being wounded Joe rushes against Peter and presses him against the window. A short fight and Peter pushes Joe out of the window. Kelly madly boxes against Peter but Peter holds her hands and asks her to calm down. Now they are alone and they will go away and it will be wonderful. Kelly fears that Peter will shoot her. She tells him that she is pregnant from him and they are having a child. Peter is happy and he embraces her.

Joe is badly damaged and quickly brought to the hospital. One police officer wants to storm the house. Cruz is against this plan. He says that if Kelly is still alive then they can't storm the house as she might get killed. One officer brings the news that they have seen two persons moving so Kelly is still alive. Eden is losing control when she hears that the officer wants to storm the house and Cruz has to comfort her. Marcello suggests to phone to Peter and try to negotiate with him again. Since he has Kelly he might be calmed down.

The phone rings. Peter's head starts hurting terribly. He closes his ears with his hands. Kelly asks if she should take it but Peter takes the phone. He shouts into the phone they should not come close to him otherwise he will kill himself and Kelly. Peter puts down the phone and then throws it against the ground.

Cruz wonders what might go on in Peter's head since he has Kelly. Marcello tells him that he probably is totally confused. First he shoots Kelly and thinks she is nearly dead, then she is healthy and alive. He probably will kill himself or Kelly or both of them. Cruz suggests to switch off the electricity so that Kelly might take the chance to flee.

Kelly asks Peter to go with her to the hospital and get help for his pain. Peter recovered and says it is ok. The light goes off. Peter senses that this was done forcefully. He takes Kelly to the room on the backside. With joy he sees all the ready things for the baby. Old feelings are coming up in him. He puts the gun on the bed and takes the teddy bear. He wants to become a good father and the child should not have a childhood like he had. His head starts paining again. Now since he knows that he is having a son he wants to take more care for his health. Kelly keeps an eye on the pistol and wants to take it. Peter all of a sudden rushes to her and wants to sleep with her. Kelly takes the gun but Peter quickly disarms her.

Cruz gives the order to storm the house. He will go first.

Peter gets furious. He directs his gun against Kelly. He tells her that now he knows who the source of his problem is. It is not Joe or anybody else but Kelly. He only has to shoot her and his problems will be gone. Kelly rushes against Peter and starts fighting. He takes her and knocks her against a cupboard. Cruz has entered the house and tells Peter to let Kelly go. Peter steps back and directs his gun to Cruz. Cruz fires before Peter could fire. Peter falls to the floor and is dead. The other officers storm in but Cruz keeps them back telling them that all is over.

Ted meets Warren in the hospital. Warren tells him that Peter is dead. Ted asks him if he knows anything about Joe's condition. Warren tells him that he does not know very much but only that he is very much damaged. Ted takes the chance to say sorry to Warren about what had happen between them and they finally shake their hands. A doctor is passing and Ted gets informed that Joe is on the intensive station. They could not operate him as he had to much internal bleeding and there is not much hope. The relations should be informed so that they might have the chance to talk to him. Ted is shocked in hearing this. He thinks about Kelly who loves him so much and is just married to him. Warren puts his hand on Ted's shoulder and tries to comfort him.

Maggie left her bed and searches for information on Joe. She wants to see him. Warren tells her that first of all the relatives will have to see him. A nurse saw her running around and brought her into back into the bed. Not long she is up again running to find out about anything about Joe.

Jackie is with Larry who also had to stay in bed. The door of their room is just open and Jackie sees Ted. She asks him to come in and she introduces Larry and Ted to each others.

They carry the dead body of Peter out of the house. Cruz asks Kelly to take rest but Kelly wants to go and see Joe. Marcello offers her to take her along with himself. Cruz agrees and says that he will come with the other car. Cruz and Kelly are out of the house and Eden starts attacking Marcello. What he is doing here at all, and that she wishes he and Sophia would leave Santa Barbara. Marcello tells her that he has nothing to say to her any more and leaves.

Ted does not dare to tell Kelly the truth. He tells her that Joe will manage it. Cruz, Kelly and the others sit down happy waiting for the doctor. Eden gets up again and Ted tells her the truth. Eden finds he has acted rightfully in making Kelly not more excited as she is already exhausted.

Maggie finally gets permission to leave the hospital. Warren offers to take her home. She wants to stay and wait for Joe. Cruz sees her and tells her that she has to stay at home for one week. She does not want to stay at home but Cruz insists very sharply. Warren comes back and Maggie asks him if his offer to bring her home is still there.

Warren drives her home. Maggie is not in a good mood to talk. He asks for her address but she does not want to tell him. At one place she tells him that now he can stop and she will do the rest by foot. She tells him that she hopes to see him again under other circumstances. Warren tells her that he hopes to see her again.

Kelly is waiting in the chapel. Eden does not want the doctor to get to her and tell her the truth. The doctor tells her that he does not think that this is ok. Finally he gives in and says that he will check Kelly's condition but if he finds she can bear it he will tell her the truth. They enter the chapel. The doctor tells Kelly that she can go now and stay with her husband. He will be happy to see her when he wakes up. Kelly says thanks and runs to Joe. Eden thanks the doctor. The doctor tells her that he found it better in this way. If she had asked he of course would have told her the truth.

Kelly sits with Joe and waits in distress for him to wake up.

Mason is totally surprised in seeing Sophia. He wonders where she has been all these past 15 years. Sophia is asking help from him in seeing Kelly. Mason does not find this a good idea. He asks her why she has come back and hurts her feelings by telling her that without her he would have had a much better life. There would be no Channing and he will not give her any help in seeing Kelly. He at once senses that Eden also must know about that she is alive. She asks him if he will tell now to the others but Mason tells her that nobody will hear about it from him.

Eden knocks at the door and disturbs Marcello in his hypnosis. He goes out and asks her to keep quiet for a few more minutes. Eden is very upset but has to give in. Marcello closes his hypnosis by telling Kelly that she should come and see him at one o'clock at room number 101 in the Capwell hotel. Kelly comes out of the hypnosis relaxed. Eden storms in and asks her afraid what he has done with her. Kelly tells her that her headache has gone and she feels much better. Marcello goes and the others try to comfort Kelly in their way. Kelly dislikes their approach and does not want to stay with them. Marisa phones and wants to talk to her but Kelly feels guilty for the death of her son and does not want to talk to her. Mason comes and also talks to Kelly but CC disturbs him being afraid that he might say something that disturbs her more. They go aside and Mason tells him that he only wants to help her as he has seen many persons who have experienced much less than Kelly has done and who got totally destroyed by it. CC calms down and accepts him somehow. Kelly is objecting all their approaches. All of a sudden Kelly remembers that she is having a meeting with the doctor. All are very surprised as she rejected all offers for a good doctor from CC. Eden offers her to drive her to the place.

Mason ask CC if he can phone in his office. Gina goes behind him. When Mason finishes his phone conversation she asks him what she can do because of Hank. Mason gives her the advice to marry sooner as Hank is getting free. If CC is finding out about her past he might not marry her, but if she is already married to CC, he might oversee this point.

Eden and Kelly arrive in the Capwell hotel. Meanwhile Marcello was getting room 101 ready as his office. Kelly goes straight to the room, followed by Eden. Kelly knocks and goes in. Marcello turns around and sees Eden behind her. He goes out and tells Eden all about his long list of degrees he has as a doctor and that he only is there to help. Sophia has seen both going along and stands in the back. When Marcello locks Eden out she tells her that she should let Marcello help Kelly. He also had helped her. Without him she would be still in the mental hospital and that Marcello is a very famous doctor in Europe.

Eden phones to CC and tells him that Kelly has gone to see Marcello. CC finds it ok but Eden thinks they should find a better one. CC tells her that he has checked up and all his references are very good but for giving her peace in mind he will invite Marcello in the afternoon and talk again personally to him.

Kelly is very happy with Marcello's treatment and feels more and more better. Eden brings her at home and has to see that Kelly is even able to phone to Marisa and talk to her with much understanding.

Marcello meets CC. He informs CC about Kelly's condition and what is going on with her. That at the moment she has a longing for a neutral person as they are too emotional in their love to her. CC thinks that he is right and that he might have done many mistakes in his approach to his children. He starts to talk about Channing while Marcello all of a sudden notices CC's medals gained in the war hanging on the wall and falls again in flashbacks to the time where his parents got killed while CC was holding his mouth. CC asks him if he is all right. Marcello quickly says that everything is all right.

Augusta is awake. Lionel sleeps. Augusta wonders if he knows that the Contessa is Sophia. She starts kissing him and tries to get out the secret while he is asleep. Lionel wakes up and understands at once what she wants. He gets up and phones to his broker finding out that Brick is the person dealing with the stocks of their family. Lionel gets very upset about this. A simple chauffeur, not a professional, is taking care of their stocks. He tells Augusta that Minx must have gone mad in doing such a thing. He immediately phones to Amy's place asking Brick to come for a talk.

Amy is still in her nightgown and has not yet combed her hair. She is sitting leisurely at the phone and tries to get a job. When hearing she is pregnant all potential employers end the conversation. Jackie is serving her a drink when Brick comes to see her on his free day with a picnic basket full of things. He invites her for a picnic, but she wants to get a job. The phone rings and Brick is going to see Lionel.

Lionel offers Brick a seat and wants to know what kind of job he is doing for Minx. As Brick is not ready to tell the full truth Lionel helps by telling him straight that he knows that he is dealing on the stock market with their share. Augusta gives him notice to leave them after two weeks. Brick tells them that this job was not his idea but Minx's and he has done nothing wrong for which they can fire him.

Sophia is answering the bell asking who it is. Voice from outside: 'It is your stepson.' Sophia: 'Oh, Marcello come in'. A amused Mason is making his way in to her room and gives her a present, nicely packed, asking her to open. Sophia opens. It is a bookmark. Mason explains that he made it once for her but then he could not give it her as she had left. Sophia tells him that she always loved him. Mason tells her that she could not do it as she was not his real mother. He puts a lot of questions to her without giving her the chance to answer. He then takes the phone and phones to Eden inviting her to come at once because of Sophia. He asks her who else is knowing about and Eden tells him that it is Lionel. Mason phones to Lionel and invites him.

Augusta notices that Lionel mentioned when talking to Mason also Eden. Lionel tells Brick that he will talk again to him later as he has to go to see Mason. Brick tells him that he wants to talk to them only if Minx is also present. Also they cannot give him notice because it is alone Minx with whom he is having an agreement. Lionel runs and Augusta tells Brick that he can go enjoy his free day. Augusta quickly phones to Mason's office. She finds out that Mason is in the presidential suite. She rushes there. Standing at Sophia's door she changes her mind and phones to a man asking him for a special service. She then walks around. A servant is coming and bringing a drink into Sophia's room. When he comes out Augusta gives him some money and asks him what he has seen. He tells her that there were four persons. Two men and two women. Augusta rushes home and gives order to the man to wait at the back door with a car for the Contessa telling her that it is a special service of the house and then they should bring her at a place she will tell.

Mason, Eden and Lionel are telling Sophia to leave for Europe. They all have their own selfish reasons. Mason does not want her to get close to CC again. Lionel is thinking his family will come in danger when she will be reunited with CC and that she is the actual reason of the fights of their families. Eden is having her emotional reasons. Sophia states that by all what they say nobody is also considering her feelings in being separated from the family dear to her for 15 years. She adds that if she is not wanted then she will of course go back to Europe. Mason shameless tells her that this is what they wanted to hear. He takes the phone and tells the front desk of the hotel that they should make ready the bill, the Contessa is leaving in the afternoon. Sophia is close to tears in pain. Mason tells Eden that their work is done and goes out with her. Eden starts to feel somehow sorry for Sophia. Yet, she is her mother she thinks. Mason tells her that she should not become weak. Now she can fully concentrate on her policeman Cruz. Mason adds that the social difference cannot be overseen. Cruz will never become a man of the high society. Eden tells him that is nothing concerning him. Lionel is still with Sophia. He fills a glass with an alcoholic drink and offers it to her as a farewell drink.

A mysterious Dr. Renfro has come with a file. The name written on this file is Amy Perkins. He sees her doctor and is having a talk with her. He wants to take over Amy's case. Amy is invited and she comes with Brick. Her doctor tells her that Dr. Renfro is a specialist and he is taking over her case. Amy is against this as she finds that her doctor was helping her already so much and she would like to stay with her. The doctor tells her that she need not to pay Dr. Renfro. He is making all free of charge and he only will examine her if everything is all right and maybe she does not need an expert at all. Amy by then agrees and Dr. Renfro is examining her. Amy is happy as he tells her that everything is all right. She should come the next week again. Amy leaves the room. Dr. Renfro is phoning to somebody telling that everything is running as planned. Amy Perkins has become his patient.

Brick and Amy coming home. Brick asks Amy to relax while he is massaging her feet. He asks her what she thinks about taking their own apartment. There is just one free room in the house where he has rented his room. Amy tells him that she never has thought about taking her own apartment but she also is having an idea. Her mother would be very happy in renting out one room now since Joe's room is free. And Brick will get some better food in addition. Brick finds this also a good idea.

The Contessa asks the driver to bring her to a certain restaurant. She is already sitting when she asks them to wait for a moment she has forgotten something. The driver presses the lock button and the co-driver tells her that she will go nowhere now but has to go where they are bringing her. The Contessa is protesting in vain.
