  Hipolita asks Marina who she is. She becomes scared and Ada awakens and demands t know who she is. Marina tells Isabel what happened when Luis ariives and asks what happened and where his son is.

     Luis talks to Isabel when Ada arrives and he asks for Hipolita. He decides to go see her and she's confused when Luis enters and she questions him/ He simulates some of the answers he gives to Hpolita as she wonders why she's not with her mother. She asks him if they're engaged and he tells her there's something big that binds them but he doesn't go into details. At that moment Ada enters and interrupts them. She asks him what Luis told her and she says that he said he loved her.

     Victoria defies Sara and plans to go to the Guevara palace. At the palace Luis recalls the night he confessed his love to Hipolita when they were at Valverde. Cristobal arrives at the palace and Juana asks him to back out of the duel and he tells her if Diego apologizes to him and Catalina he will. Wen she tells him that Diego won't do it he tells her there's nothing else he can do but go ahead with the duel. Juana learns that Luis has returned. Juana begs Diego not to deul Cristobal but he denies to but does agree to stop at the first sight of blood. Juana lies to Diego saying Isabel might accept Las Tunas as a payment for the loan. She then begs Isabel about her plan. Isabel tells Juana that Hipolita has lost her memory. Juana pays Francisco's source to remain quiet about Diego and Esperanza. Cristobal checks on Hipolita and gives Ada and Isabel orders. Hipolita dreams of when she and Luis were at Valverde.

     Marcos and Felipe arrive at the palace. Esperanza decides to confront Hipolita as she talks to Ada about Luis. Esperanza arrives and starts to harrass her but Ada stops her. Juana arrives and throws her out tellint her she'll tell Friar Alvaro the truth if she bothers Hipolita. Juana acts friendly with Hipolita and tells her that Esperanza is crazy as she complains to Mirtha. She tells Mirtha to ask Diego for help as she wishes that Hipolita dies. Juana tells Hipolita that Antonio is her suitor.

     Cristobal tells Luis what Hipolita's prognosis is. They also talk about the assault and of Victoria and Sara. At that moment Vicrotia arrives at the palace. Juana gives Ada orders Victoria talks to Marina. Luis learns of the duel and offers to take Cristobal's place in order so he won't defy his principles but he turns him down asking him and Felipe to be his witnesses. Marcos suggests that he use a pistol as Luis asks him when he wants the deul to take place. Victoria tells Marina that her name is Margarita and that she was a friend of her mother's. Luis thanks his friends for all their help. Antonio arrives at the palace. Marina introduces Victoria to Isabel.

     Antonio confronts Luis and accuses him of taking Rafael. He denies it as Antonio insults him. He tells him that if he wants Rafael than to keep him as Luis tells him that Felipe was his witness at what he just said. Juana arrives and tells the men she has to talk to them in private.

     Juana tells the men what her plans are concerning Hipolita. Ada tells Hipolita she doesn't trust Kiana as she tells her she does considering she's told her more of her life than anyone else. She asks about Luis and she laughs when Ada tells her that all handsome men are demons. She asks her where and when she met Luis as she asks her if she's always had an attitude. She asks to see herself in a mirrror as Ada cries.

     Juana tells everyone including Isabel that she's going to construct a new life for Hipolita. Antonio agrees but demands she be told that he's her husband and not her suitor but Juana denies to do it. Antonio agrees to Juana's but tells her he's not satisfied. Luis tells Juana her plan isn't going to work and that she can't always have everyone do what she wants. She then explains to Isabel why she's doing it. Luis asks Felipe is he thinks Juana might have kidnapped Rafael. He decides to visit Esperanza as Felipe recalls the day that Martin died. Isabel tells Juana she won't demand payment on the loan if Diego keeps quiet and doesn't tell Hipolita anything. Juana calls her a dog and Isabel does the same and then asks her for Modesta.

     Luis visits Esperanza and he orders Mirtha to get the mid-wife as she cringes in pain. She demands that he throw Hipolita out and that if she loses her child it'll be her fault. Luis visits Hipolita and tells Ada he's going to look for Radael. Hipolita dreams of the day she met Luis. At the DeLata palace Cristobal talks to Aurelio. Catalina arrives and he tells her about Hipolita losing her memory. He then questions her about who knew when Hipolita was leaving.

     Marcos learns that Malanquillas made the reservations for the trip. Francisco plans to use the blackmail money to open a business. Cristobal arrives and asks them when they knew about the trip and then tells Asuncion that her daughter has amnesia. Marcos questions Malanquillas. Antonio complains to Rodrigo when Diego arrives and tells them a revolt has occurred in Panama and that the borders are closed and that all the sea trips have been cancelled and he tells Luis that if he and Hipolita have gotten to Veracrus they wouldn't have been able to leave.

     Felip tells Luis that he believes Juana was behind the attack. They arrive to talk to Sara as she talks to Victoria about Isabel and Marina. Baltazar informs Sara of Luis' arrival. He asks her

to look into Rafael's disappearance. Felipe tells Sara he killed Martin's killer and she decides to help Luis. Felipe wonders why Sara asked about Victoria as he deduces that Cristobal was right about her being Sara de Olviedo. Sara tells Victoria that Luis looks like Carlos and would like to see Diego. Isabel talks to Hipolita when Juana arrives and tells her about Catalina and Asuncion visiting her and divulges that Esperanza is Luis' wife.

     Cristobal visits Teresa. Juana explains to Isabel why she told Hipolita the truth. Hipolita talks to Ada about Luis. Teresa becomes worried for Cristobal as he pleads his case in why he's defending Catalina. She tells him if he goes through with the duel he'll be letting everyone know that he's interested in Catalina and he says he knows but that he's not going to tolerate what Diego did to offend her. Juana lies to Diego about Isabel.

     Marcos tells Felipe and Luis of his conversation with Malanquillas. Diego's agrees to Juana's conditions when Cirilo arrives and he learns of Esperanza's possible miscarriage. She then talks to the mid-wife. Sara gets after Ramon from separating Hipolita from her son. Perla hides when she sees Luis arrive at Cristobal's. Victoria asks Ramon about Isabel. Sara asks Iginio to investigate who took Rafael. Antonio denies to tells Rodrigo what happened in Santa Rita. He asks him if the problem with his wife has to do with a rumor concerning his sexual preferences and he admits it does.

     Diego denies taking Rafael. Luis questions Vicente about Gasca ad ge offers to investigate where he might have been. Felipe explains to Hipolita about Luis and Diego's relationship. He also tells her it's a good idea to forget abd tells her about Martin. She asks him why Diego and Luis hate each other as Felipe tells her that it's only on Diego's part.

     Isabel tells Luis that Juana knows Victoria since she always was at the palace when Sara visited Carlos and Aurora. She also tells Luis of the loan Juana borrowed and how much she owes her and that she asked for the palace as payment. Luis tells her not to make any deals with Juana and she tells him it's her decision. She goes back to Sara and tells Luis she wonders if she was burned in the same fire that killed the Count and his wife. Hipolita tells Felipe that she wants to know the truth about her life.

     Luis tells Felipe that he wants to tell Hipolita the truth. He reminds him of Cristobal's petition and Luis says he understands his friends' perspective as a doctor but not his mother's. Vicente tells Luis what he learned about Gasca. Isabel asks Juana why she lied about not knowing Victoria. She then admits that she misses Modesta. Isabel blames her for being in that situation as Juana cries. Victoria begs Sara to talk to Isabel. She denies to at first but later agrees. Isabel checks on Hipolita as she dreams of the day she and her mother went to visit Catalina at the convent.

     Catalina talks to Cristobal about Hipolita. She then tells her she's worried about him and feels guilty of his confrontation with Diego. She tells him she should have never left the convent as he tells her he's happy she did. He tries to console her and reiterates his promise to find her a husband but she tells him she doesn't want one when Aurelio interrupts them. Cristobal talks to Felipe who has brought him a pistol for the duel and Catalina cries when the men leave. Luis talks to the Alderman about the kidnapping as he tells him that Diego also visited him concerning the stolen documents. Luis learns of the chaos in Panama. Diego practices but is unable to hit any targets while Cristobal hits all of them. He then tells Felipe he wants to see his siter. Antonio asks Andres if his father would be interested in working for him.

     Francisco meets with Perla. Marina tells Hipolita about the duel and that Catalina is in love with Cristobal. Iginio tells Sara his suspicions on the attack. Francisco asks Perla about Luis. Marina talks to Hipolita about Andres and of her origin. At that moment Esperanza walks by and they talk about her. Esperanza complains to Mirtha. Cristobal visits Teresa and tells her the duel is the following day and gives her a letter stating his last wishes. He confesses to her that he loves Catalina but feels insecure, uncomfortable and embarrassed of being intimate since he hasn't been with a woman in such a long time. She tells him she wishes he would marry and have children and that's why she's worried.

     Rodrigo apologizes to Catalina when Andres arrives and she tells him Juana wants to see him. Ada denies to tell Hipolita any information. Francisco blames Hipolita for his disgrace and then insults Andres. Luis cries as he recalls the day he met his son and prays to God for guidance.

Diego shoots Cristobal near the heart as his friends run to his side. Luis tells him he's scum and doesn't deserve to be the Count and they fight. Felipe separates them and Diego orders Gasca to kill Luis but he defends himself. Rodrigo and Antonio are disgusted by Diego's actions as the doctor struggles to find the bullet. Luis orders Marcos to find a stretcher as Cristobal tries to say something to Luis.

     Hipolita runs to see what happened as she hears Diego say what happened. She runs into Antonio and asks what occurred as Esperanza asks Mirtha if Antonio is Hipolita's husband. Diego gets after Gasca for not killing Luis when they had the chance. He also orders him not to go for Modesta and asks about Victoria. Diego confronts Juana who slaps him, calls him a disgrace to the family and throws him out. Juana then orders Gasca to bring back Rafael and then Modesta.

     Cristobal begs him to take him to his palace. Luis denies to but Cristobal tells him if he's going to die he wants to die in his home. Esperanza wants to talk to Antonio. Francisco is worried about his future. Catalina waits for news as Cletilde tries to calm her down. Hipolita consoles Isabel over the situation. The whole town sees when Cristobal is taken home. Catalina and Cleotilde run to his side as Perla hides. Catalina blames herself for what happened as her father gets after her. Ramon questions Andres about the deul. Luis tells the Escobar family what happened and of the ransom note. Iginio tells Sara about Cristobal as she says Diego isn't like his parents. She also asks him about the kidnapping.

     Antonio tries to convince Hipolita to move into the hotel but she denies. She question him about the 'accident'. She begins to cry when she interacts with one of Diego's daughters. Diego assures Luis that he'll kill Diego if Cristobal dies just like he killed Martin's killer. Aurelio tells Luis that he sent Teresa a message and wants to get a priest but Luis tells him he doesn't need one as he tells his friend to fight. Victoria talks to Marina when Hipolita and Antonio arrive. Victoria learns she has amnesia therefore doesn't remember her. Isabel agrees to talk to 'Margarita'. Felipe sees Perla who then tells Luis who confronts her. She begs him for forgiveness for what she did but he tells her he never wants to see her again.

     Luis wants to talk to Luis. Isabel can't understand Victoria's attitude but agrees to meet with the mysterious woman. Antonio visits the Alderman as he asks him why he lies about whose son Rafael is. Luis tells Juana about Cristobal's condition and to swallow her pride concerning the gossip sorrounding the scandal. Luis tells Hipolita about Cristobal and then hugs her. He apologizes to her and talks to her about Rafael. He leaves and she demands to know everything about her life. Isabel swears at Diego. Luis visits Esperanza and they talk about the possibility of separating so she can marry her baby's father. Luis tells Felipe and Marcos he's going alone to the dropoff.

     Diego hopes Cristobal dies when Esperanza arrives and tells him of Luis' offer. He laughs at her and insults her and she swears at him. As she leaves she also swears at Hipolita. Juana offers Hipolita in exchange for letting her stay at the palace; take care of Rafael and be his nanny.

The priest pronounces Cristobal and Catalina husband and wife. They kiss each other's hands and smile at each other. Hipolita talks to her mother about Juana's proposal as she tells Isabel that Catalina has her future set even if there's no contract but as Cristobal's widow. Felipe denides to go look for Luis. Asuncion becomes nervous when Hipolita asks her about Rafael. Asuncion begs Francisco not to ask Juana for anymore money but he denies to.

     Juana arrives home as she admits to talk to Domingo. At Cristobal's Isabel stares at a solemn Catalina as Hipolita tells her sister not to give up hope. She consoles her sister as they both wish each other happiness. Juana gives Domingo orders. Felipe catches up to Luis and he asks for Cristobal. He tells him he asked to be married to Catalina and his friend is happy they did. Domingo arrives at Cristobal's but denies to give Marcos the message from Juana. Diego arrives home drunk.

     Luis and Felipe arrive at the DeLara palace and Luis signals to Marcos as Domingo sleeps. He tells Hipolita they didn't return Rafael and learns Cristobal is worse. He orders all present that he's going to put him in cold water like his friend taught him to reduce the fever. Teresa tells him he'll kill him but he tells her what's killing him is the fever. After a while Catalina informs them that the fever has gone down and Luis is happy that his friend is going to survive. As he leaves he stares at a flame when Isabel tells him Domingo has a message for him. Luis arrives at the castle as Juana tells him she sent Gasca to get Rafael and Luis tells him he's going after him. He also tells her that Cristobal is better and that he knows his friend married Catalina. He becomes angry when she learns she hired Hipolita to be Rafael's nanny and he tells her that when he recovers Rafael he's going to tell her the truth.

     The ladies attend church as the doctor tells Luis and Teresa that Cristobal is better. They laugh as Teresa says that if things hadn't happened the way they did Cristobal would have never gotten married. Cristobal awakens and asks them if they're talking about him and learns Rafael wasn't returned. Luis asks him if he's aware he married Catalina and he says he does. Luis tells him he's happy for him as he says so is he as Teresa smiles. As she leaves Church Hipolita wonders out loud about her life and of Luis' son. Luis gives Marcos and Cirilo orders concerning Gasca. Luis tells Hipolita they need to talk and promises to tell her all she wants to know.

     On his way out of town Luis sees Antonio and they confront each other. Antonio tells him he's going to tell Hipolita the truth. Luis agrees he do it but tells him not to forget that he and his mother put him in her bed to get her pregnant as the townpeople stare at them. Catalina tells Hipolita she's happy that Cristobal is better and eating and hasn't regreted marrying her. Hipolita tells her if Cristobal doesn't love her he will because she's a good person. Catalina thanks her sisterfor always lifting her spirits and then tells her to have patienceand to let Luis tell her the truth. Marcos questions Domingo. Isabel stops Antonio from telling Hipolita the truth when Juana arrives. Juana threatens him and tells him Rodrigo has a price and tells him she wants Rafael. Luis wonders if Antonio will tell Hipolita the truth but Felipe denies he will.

     Ada tells Hipolita that she and Luis love each other and that she slept with him when they are interrupted by Antonio. She starts to feel bad as he asks about Cristobal. He leaves as she feels bad about sleeping with a married man being engaged. Sara is nervous about meeting with Isael at the plaza square. Teresa tells Catalina she's happy her brother married her and that Cristobal has feelings for her. She gives her the letter that Cristobal had given her and she gives it back to him. Cristobal tells her he's happy yo have married her and she says she does also. They hold hands as he tells her she's now the woman of the house and can do as she wishes. He tells her he wants her to be comfortable in whatever she does and asks her not to be so formal and call him by his name.

   Cristobal tells Catalina what he wants their marriage to be like as he begs her to call him by his name. At the palace Juana hides Rafael when Hipolita wants to talk to her. Hipolita tells her that she knows she was Luis' lover and doesn't want to live at the palace. Juana tells her about Esperanza and she horrified at the way she talks about her waiting to die. She also tells her she wants her and Luis to marry.

     Hipolita tells Ada about what Juana told her. She tells her mother who in turn tells her to return to Antonio. Ada admits to her that Juana scares her. Hipolita demands to know the truth but Ada tells her to wait for Luis but does tells her she's a good person. Marcos learns that Rafael has returned and tells Luis who runs to see him as Felipe questions Cirilo. Luis is reunited with his son.

     Luis plays with his son as asks Juana for details about how and when Gasca returned. He asks her if she's behind everything but she denies it. She begs him not to tell Hipolita that Rafael is her son but he says he's going to tell her the truth no matter what. He goes looking for Hipolita but doesn't find her and asks Cirilo to learn where she is. Juana begs Isabel to talk to Luis as he wonders where Hipolita is. Isabel visits Luis but he denies to keep lying to Hipolita. Isabel notices his scar and tells him to use a cream but he tells her not to worry. She then tells Marina she wasn't able to convince him as she tells her to receive Victoria as she plans to visit Madgalena.

     At the DeLara palace, Catalina tells Hipolita what Cristobal asked of her and that she loves him. She asks her what it's like to become a woman and Hipolita tries to explain it but she says she doesn't remember. Hipolita tells her she can't believe she slept with Luis being engaged and Catalina explains to her how she fell in love with Cristobal and that she's trying to understand how she and Luis came together. Hipolita tells her and Ada that she feels like something is missing in her life and no one wants to tell her what it could be but doesn't ask them since they won't tell her.

     Iginio tells Sara that he saw Ramon talking to Gasca. Victoria tells Sara that everyone has something to hide and that includes Juana. Diego receives a visit from the miners. He tells Juana he denies to sign the accord as he says he never agreed to anything. Esperanza confronts Luis and calls his son a bastard. He tells her not to call him that again and that he's his only son and that he loves him. She tells him she deserves respect for being his wife. He tells her she doesn't deserve any respect and to be aware that he's protecting her because if Friar Alvaro learns she lied they'll hang her.

     Luis tells Diego he doesn't want to talk to him and that he'll sign the accord. Juana begs Luis not to tell Hipolita the truth as Diego tells her to find him a wife or he'll marry the first prostitute he sees. Felipe tells Marcos they need to talk to Cristobal to figure out what's going on. Carmela arrives and he worries about her as he blames himself for his son's death. Perla tells Ramon and Arcario to leave. Luis arrivea at Cristobal's with Rafael. He first talks to Cristobal who wonders if Juana isn't his mother but he quickly changes the subject. Luis tells his friend he's telling Hipolita the truth. Perla arrives to talk to to Francisco when she learns that Rafael is Luis' son. She grabs him as Hipolita walks into the patio area. She thinks back to a scene concerning her son and at the thought of her son being in danger she tells Perla to let go of her son. Luis appears and Hipolita tells him she thought he was on a trip. He confronts Perla who seems puzzled.

     Catalina and Ada run to hug her and Rafael. She's confused and tells him her son wasn't kidnapped he was in the patio. Ada tells her what happened as Luis signals to her to remain quiet. Luis asks her what day she thinks it is and she says she's leaving the following day. She yells at Luis telling her to leave her alone. He tries to explain when Catalina intercedes and tells her what's going on. Luis tells her not to forget he loves her as Catalina tells her 2 weeks have passed and that she had amnesia.

     Franciso tells Perla what's going on and runs her off as Cristobal tells Luis that the most important person in Hipolita's life made her recover her memory. Ada plays with Rafael as Cristobal tries to calm down Luis. Hipolita can't believe what she has lived as Catalina tells her how worried Luis was about her, Cristobal and Rafael. She asks her if Antonio did anything to help and she tells her he went to the authorities. She begins to cry and tells her sister that she's going to go crazy.

Ada cries over the situation she and Hipolita find themselves in. Hipolita assures Ada they'll be fine as she decides to rent the room.

     Isabel arrives at Cristobal and tells him and Catalina of her visit with Madgalens. She tells them of the argument that Luis and Antonio had in the square where Luis told him not to forget to tell Hipolita that he and his mother put her in her bed to make a baby. Cristobal tells her there's nothing that can be done. They also tell her that Hipolita recovered her memory when she saw Rafael. Juana talks to the Alderman and argues her point over Rafael and to help stop Hipolita from taking Rafael and he agrees to help her.

     At the palace Cirilo tells Luis that neither Hipolita nor Juana have returned. Juana visits Teresa and tells her to tell the bishop that Hipolita is not who she is but Teresa tells her that Cristobal and Luis have told her the truth and she vehemetly denies to lie for her. At the DeLara palace Isabel tells Cristobal and Catalina what Sara told her. Cristobal wonders if Juana had a motive to get rid of Sara. Cleotilde tells Cristobal that Luis and Felipe want to talk to him. Catalina tells him it's too soon for him to be moving and he tells her he has to so the blood can circulate and asks her to help him.

     Victoria tells Sara the she wants her daughter to be settled and then she will disappear. Sara tells her she can't leave with her until Don Ignacio dies when Iginio arrives and Victoria tells him to set up a meeting with Gasca and to ask about Andres. At the hotel Ramon and Arcario look for Andres and offer him a job but he denies to. When Antonio arrives they leave and he asks Andres if he knows of anyone renting a house and offers him a job as his personal assistant.

     Luis tells his friends that he can't lie in regard to Hipolita being married. Felipe tells him to lie as Cristobal is against it. He tells the DeLara's that they're not parents yet but he knows about losing a son as he thinks back to the day that Martin died. Cleotilde arrives and tells Catalina that Hipolita wants to talk to her as Cristobal tells Luis to let her go alone. Hipolita asks her sister if she can borrow one of her carriages but denies to tell her where's she's going as she knows she'll tell Luis. He becomes angry at the thought of Hipolita living on her own as Felipe and Cristobal agree that he should give her some freedom or she'll rebel. He calls her stubborn as Felipe tells him to look at himself.

     Juana complains to Modesta about Teresa denial to lie. Mirtha enters Hipolita's room and put the bottle of medicine back. In the hallway Esperanza confronts Hipolita telling her to take her bastard son and leave. She fights back and insults their father. Esperanza defends her father and tries to hit her but Hipolita stops her telling her she won't hit her because she's pregnant. She spews back that her child is legitimate while hers is a bastard. Hipolita tells her that it's Luis' fault and not her son's and that she doesn't care if she believes her or not and leaves. Diego claps at the spectacle and asks Esperanza how his child is. She slaps him and he slaps her back and she runs out of the room. Ada tells Hipolita about the medicine bottle. She then talks to Rafael who confuses them when she says the word 'Tata'.

     Catalina takes care of Cristobal and asks him if she can lend some furniture to her sister and he tells her to take everything she wants. Cristobal tells his wife that Hopolita is like Luis except he's a man and society accepts it but not from a woman. Francisco interrupts them and orders Catalina to leave. As she's about to Cristobal calls her back and tells her to stay and tells her father that she's going to stay for their conversation which bothers Francisco. He then tells Cristobal of a possibility of taking over his business matters but Cristobal tells him to talk to Aurelio to see which of the businesses he has is the one he wants to manage. As he leaves Catalina cries and is embarrassed at her father's greed and Cristobal tells her he knows how her father is and that you're only responsible for your actions and no one else's. He hugs her and tries to console her as he cradles her in his arms.

     At the palace Luis looks for Hipolita but she denies to talk to him. He drags her to his room and she asks her if he's going to rape her and re reminds her that there has never been any violence between them not even the first time. He reads her the letter he wrote him and he tells her of the moment that he fell in love with her. He promises that he'll never take Rafael away from her and that he doesn't want to lose her and hugs her. She tells him no matter what happens she'll always love him. They kiss and make love.

   Ramon tells Sara and Victoria about Diego wanting to kill Luis. Victoria asks her mother if she's going to tell Isabel but she denies to saying she doesn't know if it's true. Victoria also lears all about Andres. Juana tells Isabel she'll give her the castle but to keep it a secret. Isabel tells her it all depends on Luis.

     Juana talks to Luis who tells her he'll do what Isabel says but wants the accord signed by Diego and if he breaks it he'll break the partnership and his and his cousin can go to hell. She tells Diego who denies to sign it saying Luis always wins. Diego tells his mother that she has made his life miserable and that maybe she should have left things the way they were and not switched him with Luis. He tells her he's so unhappy and wants to die as he cries in here arms. Hipolita thinks of the night she spent with Luis as he stares at a candle. Suddenly he's sorrounded by flames as he tries to understand what just happened.

     Hipolita goes to work as Marcos follows her. Francisco becomes bothered with Aurelio when he tells him he has to tend to a situation with Isabel before he can talk to him. Angry he takes it out on Catalina. Cleotilde sees them and asks Catalina if he hurt her but she denies it. Cleotilde tells Cristobal who becomes angry and tells her he wants to talk to Francisco when he returns. Hipolita is harrassed by the elderly man at work but she puts him in his place. Andres helps Antonio move when he comes across Ramon and he learns his name and realizes he's Hipolita's husband. Aurelio talks to Isabel.

     Modesta gives Juana the medicine bottle and wonders if Esperanza wanted to poison Hipolita. Esperanza begins to feel worse and starts to burn her hair off when Mirtha arrives and stops her. At that moment Esperanza reaches down she has blood on her hands. Mirtha sees them and when she turns she sees blood on the floor. She informs Juana and tells her she's gone crazy. She cancels the meeting as everyone waits for news. The mid-wife informs them she lost the baby. Luis goes to see his wife and is heartbroken too see what has become of her. Hipolita cofronts Marcos for following her. Diego and Luis sign their respective contracts.

     Hipolita goes to the market and Perla sees her. They insult each other and a fight ensues. Marcos separates them. Luis tells Isabel he doesn't want the castle in his name and she decides to put it in Rafael's name. Hipolita returns to her job and is qiestioned by her boss. Felipe learns about Esperanza. Perla learns her new client is none other thatn Hipolita's husband. Luis tells Mirtha he's going for Cristobal. Juana tells Diego about the reception and of what happened to Esperanza. Isabel arrives and tells them they have to pay their own way and they agree.

     When Hipolita's boss learns she has a son she fires her. Marcos tells Hipolita he's only doing his job. She asks for Carmela as she learns it's been 40 days since Martin's death. She asks him if she's to blame for his death and he tells her it was destiny. Luis orders Perla to stay away from Hipolita or she'll he his dark side.

     Cristobal notices a very quiet Catalina and asks her what's wrong since they made a promise to tell each other everything. She tells him she's worried about her sister and her mother. When he asks her about her father Luis interrupts them and tells them about Esperanza and if he can examine her. Carmela keeps blaming Hipoplita for Martin's death. Cristobal tells Esperanza that she lost her child and she begins to cry.

As Hipolita leaves Juana says she'll probably die. Hipolita then confronts Modesta who covers. Hipolita spews to her that they'll never have Rafael. Juana tells Modesta that Hipolita will tell Luis and that they'll lie to him. Isabel asks for Esperanza when Juana arrives. She asks Juana about Antonio and his financial situation as Juana tells her of his preferences. Hipolita asks Anibal at the hotel where Antonio lives.

     Victoria talks to Andres. When she leaves he sees Hipolita arrive. He informs Antonio that she is there and he goes to see her. She tells him she accepts his offer to return with him. Felipe tells Luis that someone has been stealing from Diego when Carmela arrives and tells Luis not to risk his wife's life again by getting pregnant. Felipe tells Luis that he never had the guts to tell his wife the truth about Esperanza. He then asks him if he's curious to know who the baby's father was but he tells him it's no use to him anymore. Felipe worries about his friend as he tells him that Cristobal also told him he looked down.

     Hipolita tells Antonio of her suspicions as he tells her he's going to make their marriage public and that Rafael is their son. She worries of Luis and Juana's reaction but he tells her they'll fight. She asks him if he's going to accept her son and he tells her he has defects but it's not her fault but his and his mother's for Rafael existence. She asks him how he could have let another man in her bed and he tells her that he'll explain everything to her one day.

     Francisco has a meeting with Aurelio and tells him he wants to be a partner in one of Cristobal's businesses but Aurelio tells him he needs to talk to his boss personally. At that moment Cristobal arrives and asks him if he'll be a partner or an employee and is surprised when his son-in-law tells him he's going to be earning a salary as an employee. Cristobal changes the subject and tells Francisco that when he married Catalina she became his responsibility and that under no circumstances is he going to tolerate his mistreatment towards his wife. He tells him about the incident where he grabbed her arm and he asks him if his daughter complained to him. He tells her she's too discreet and would never complain but warns him he's not going to let him hurt her even if he is her father. All Francisco can do is lower his head in shame.

     Cristobal then visits Catalina and tells her what Cleotilde saw and she explains to him what happened. He tells her not to let anyone mistreat her not even her father and if he does to tell him right away. She explains to him that she grew up that way and doesn't know any different. Cristobal reminds her that they discussed what he wants their lives to be like as a couple. She hugs him and tells him she's lucky to have him and he tells her he's the lucky one. When she smiles at him he tells her she's beautiful when she does.

     Hipolita informs Ada to pack their bags. Luis arrives home and learns from Esperanza about Diego's party. Juana realizes that Hipolita hasn't talked to Luis. Ramon worries why all the parties want information on each other. At that moment Francisco arrives looking for Perla. She complains to him about the guests at her house and he throws them out. They talk about La Poderosa as she asks anout Antonio. When he tells her of his preferences she tells him he slept with her. Hipolita leaves the neighboorhood as Francisco keeps questioning Perla.

     Hipolita arrives at Antonio's. Luis' men informs Felipe about Hipolita. Luis laughs at Diego's stupidity. Felipe and Marcos arrive at the palace as Luis asks about Esperanza. Felipe tells Luis that Hipolita's was at the palace earlier in the day and has now moved in with Antonio. Marcos also tells him of Modesta's visit. He asks Isabel but she denies having seen her. He then asks Modesta if Hipolita talked to Juana but she fegns ignorance as he orders her to wake her up. She denies to it and he enters and wakes her up. She awakens and asks if Esperanza has died. He tells her she's still alive and confronts her about Hipolita. She admits to seeing her and that she threatened to take Rafael from her. He tells her he had promised he wasn't going to and then leaves in a huff and tells Isabel and Felipe that he's going to see Hipolita to re-assure her that no one is going to take away her son from her. He convinces Luis to go see her the following morning as Isabel wonders what else Juana told her.

     Hipolita tells Ada she knows Luis is going to be angry and that she wanted to make it on her own but Ada tells her the best thing she did was return to her husband. Felipe tells Luis and Cristobal that he believes that Juana was behind the assault. Luis wonders if she wanted to kill Hipolita to keep Rafael. Cristobal asks Luis if he's sure he wants them to investigate but is unsure saying she is his mother. Gasca looks for Ramon and asks him about La Poderosa and he suggests he talk to Iginio. Felipe and Marcos compare the ransom notes and wonder if someone from the palace wrote them.

     Hipolita asks Antonio if she can visit Catalina. She tells him that Luis might take Rafael away from her if he learns she's returned to him. He tells her what he plans to do and orders her not to see Luis. Catalina asks Cristobal if Hipolita did the right thing returning with her husband but he tells her he's not sure but tells her they'll talk when he returns home. Asuncion arrives as he whispers to his wife to question Hipolita how she came to the conclusion that Juana was behind the assault. He kisses Asuncion's hand and then Catalina's. He stops himself and kisses her on the cheek as both smile at each other.

     At the palace Luis stares down Modesta. Cristobal visits La Poderosa and tells her he knows who she is and knows her story. She denies it but he tells her he knows it's the truth and isn't there to judge her. She asks him why he's there and he tells her of his suspicions about Juana and that all things considered she was the one who was closest to the Count and his wife. He tells her all about Luis and Diego and that it seems that Juana is Diego's mother and not Luis' and she's shocked.

Diego laughs at what Diego told him about Antonio. Isabel tells Luis what he learned from Modesta. Felipe tells Marcos to go to the town as Luis tells him to take two men with him. Cristobal blesses Marcos for a safe trip and then stops himself. He then tells Luis they need to ask Ada if she believes the assault was to kill Hipolita. Antonio is with Perla and she puts it in his head that Luis and Hipolita are lovers. She asks him how Luis got involved with his wife and he tells her he entered her room as Perla tells her that Luis isn't the forceful type.

     Felipe tells Isabel that maybe Juana had an affair: then a hatred grew for the man and then she transferred that hatred to Luis. He walks out and all agree not to talk about their thought in front on him as Cristobal goes after him. Isabel asks Felipe to learn where Sara lives because she was at Valverde back in the early years. Luis signals to Cirilo that he doesn't want to talk to anyone when there's a knock on the door. When he hears it's Cristobal he lets him in. Cristobal apologizes to him as Luis tells him to tell him what he really thinks. He tells him he doesn't think that Kiana is his mother. He questions who heis but then says it can't be true. Antonio thanks Perla for her attentions. Antonio returns home as Andrea apologizes for what happened. He tells him not to worry about it and Andres asks him persmission to go on a personal errand. Antonio asks for Hipolita but gopes to his room instead.

     Antonio gets dressed as Ada asks Hipolita what's wrong. She denied to tell her anything when Antonio arrives. They talk about their conversation and she worries that something like that could have happened to her son. He hugs her and tells her while he's alive nothing will happen to Rafael. He tells her that his life with his mother was hell and that he was happy the day she died. He tells her he's cured and that he wants children with her. She's surprised at his petition but tells her he's not going to pressure her and leaves.

     Andres arrives at Sara's and they talk about him marrying Marina. He tells her that he cares for Marina but that things happened that changed that. Je tells her he wants the mother of his children to only be his. Victoria assured him that Marina is a virgin but he tells her she isn't and tells her what happened with Diego. Victoria tells him he's going to kill Diego. Victoria cries over her daughter's shame as Andres admits that he loves Marina but doesn't want to one day throw it in her face and treat her badly like his father does with his stepmother.

     At the DeLara palace Asuncion tells Francisco of the invitation they got to Diego's reception as he tells her Juana only did it to get on Cristobal's good side. He feels humiliated at working for Cristobal instead of being in charge. He then tells her to tell Catalina to buy her a dress. Cristobal arrives home and tells Aurelio he hopes Francisco doesn't give him any problems when he collects the rents and then asks him for his wife. He goes to her room and she tells him of the invitation. He asks her if she wants to go and that it would be the opportunity he's been waiting for to introduce his wife to all of Cuencas. She asks him what is happening concerning Hipolita and he tells her it's about Luis and not her sister. She suggests they investigate Luis' past for answers. He chuckles and calls her his intelligent little girl. He tells her he loves and she tells him she loves him also and they kiss.

     At the palace Iginio tells Gasca that Sara wants to meet him but denies that she has a daughter named Victoria. The following morning Cristobal looks for Catalina and gives her money to buy a dress for her and her mother. She tells him he doesn't have to and he says he doesn't want people calling cheap and she laughs and says no one would ever think that. He also asks her for a favor; to decorate the house to represent how he feels about her. He tells her to do what she wants and gives her a rose. She tells him she loves him and he tells her he loves her more and gives her a kiss. They both sigh as Cristobal goes the wrong way as he leaves for his laboratory.

     Antonio tells Hipolita about the reception. She asks him about her rights as Rafael's mother and he tells her the consecuences it would bring her if she does it. She becomes worried and says she didn't commit adultery. Ada tells her that she didn't the first time but she did later. She then recommends that they run away. Diego gets after Gasca for giving him false information. The Alderman sends both Diego and Luis notices. Andres talks to Catalina as Francisco spies on them. He tells his sister how he feels about the arranged marriage when their father interrupts them. He tells him about La Poderosa's proposal to marry Marina.

     Luis visits Esperanza and sees she's depressed. He tells her to attend the reception but she denies to go. She asks him about Rafael and she sees how sad he is not to be able to see him. She cries over her child and she tells him that God has punished her for sinning. He asks her who got her pregnant and she tells him it was a villian who will pay. Isabel visits Hipolita and Rafael and asks Ada about the assault. Hipolita tells Isabel she wants to talk to Luis. Diego questions Antonio when he sees Luis but he ignores him. Luis tells the Alderman he's not going to take Rafael away from Hipolita and to leave things the way they are.
