SEPTEMBER 27, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,026)
After getting over the shock of Keith's surprise appearance, Gordon and Geraldine embraced Keith with love and anger. Keith explained the story about his marriage to Suella, but neglected to tell Gordon about how Suella really died. Adam defended Jonah to Bill, saying there still might be a connection between Nancy's attack in Monticello with the scorpion incident on St. Elenora. Bill, Adam, and Lt. Anderson speculated Jonah might not have gone to Mexico City since he can't be sure he succeeded in killing Nancy. Gordon and Geraldine decided to tell Colin about Keith's "return from the dead." Keith warned his parents not to mention Geraldine and Charles' conspiracy, as Colin's strict ideals might motivate him into telling the press. Nancy recalled Jonah's attack for Mike. Geraldine shocked Keith by asking why he attempted to kill Nancy.

Laurie admitted to Nancy she's not impressed with Keith. Geraldine warned Keith they have to do something about the situation with Stacy Kendall.

Jim phoned Keith, who pretended to be delighted at hearing from his "old buddy." Jim and Keith planned a lunch date to reminisce about the good old days. Jim wouldn't allow Liz to lunch with Keith and him, as Jim wants to settle unfinished business. Tiffany told Colin she doesn't buy the story of Keith's trip to South America. When Colin commented Keith's friendship with Jim might be a good thing, Tiffany retorted Keith would be better off as Jim's patient. Liz and Laurie lunched at the Coach House so Liz could spy on Jim and Keith. Laurie smothered Liz's interest in Keith by stating there's no reason to be interested in a man like Keith Whitney. Laurie grew somber as Liz described her blissful happiness with Jim. Keith bristled at Jim's comments about Suella's untimely death and Keith's not being a changed man. Keith subtly hinted Jim might lose his medical license if he doesn't keep quiet about Suella.

Kate ran to embrace her husband Frank... who was very much alive.
Nicole: (to Adam) "I know that you are the most thick-headed, obstinate, unromantic, most insufferable, stupid and boring man I've ever met in my entire life... (ADAM PULLS HER INTO ONE LONG, PASSIONATE KISS . NICOLE IS LEFT PANTING.)

Frank instructed Kate to concentrate on scaring Martha, who is more susceptible to the tricks. Adam and Mike speculated Kate might be trying to get revenge on Bill because of Frank's death in a shootout with the police. Martha told an unhappy Cookie she can't remain in the Marceau home while all sorts of strange things are happening. Kate informed Frank about Cookie's mental instability, then goaded him into playing a tape recording of the Laughing Woman again. As the laughter echoed through the house, Cookie clutched her locket and told Martha, "We're not afraid."

Geraldine demanded to know the name of Keith's informant when Keith let it slip that he knows Cookie overheard a conversation about Suella and that's why Geraldine had Cookie committed. Martha confessed all of Kate's latest tricks to Bill, who decided it might be better to send Cookie home. During therapy, Cookie admitted to Jim she finds a peace and happiness she's never known in the Marceau house. When Jim questioned Cookie further about the Laughing Woman, Cookie stated the spirit laughs because she's glad about Cookie's presence.

Ron warned Keith his reputation for fast cars and women won't be forgotten by voters or Keith's opponents in the next election. Keith and Ron decided to destroy the old image of Keith, while creating a solid, new one. Ron recognized the depth of competition between Colin and Keith, when Keith vowed he'd beat Colin to the White House. Colin confided to Ron that Keith really just wants to be Number One in Geraldine's eyes. Colin admitted to Keith he doesn't believe Keith's "one-man-peace-corps" trip to South America. Keith enjoyed a newspaper article labeling him the "new sex symbol of politics." Keith was stunned when a sobbing Stacey Kendall burst in and smothered him with an embrace.
OCTOBER 29, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,050)
Keith was less-than-thrilled over Stacey's sudden arrival, as well as her insistence that they marry soon. When Keith stalled talk of the wedding, Stacey suspected Keith is involved with another woman and became hysterical. Laurie insisted to Mike, Nancy, and Vic that she won't work on Keith's campaign the way she did on Colin's, and then admitted she doesn't think Keith has changed at all. Bill promised Adam he's going to get an airtight case against Kate Sloane and send her to jail for a very long time. Stacey failed to understand the subtext when Geraldine and Keith argued about why Keith had to leave last year, avoiding his October marriage to Stacey. Keith noticed an engagement ring on Stacey's finger. Stacey confessed she's been engaged half a dozen times in the last year, then ran crying from the room. After Stacey left, Keith called Laurie, who accepted a dinner date with him for the next night. Geraldine slapped Keith hard across the face when she learned he'd made a date with Laurie.

NOVEMBER 1, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,051)
Keith's vows that Laurie would never recognize him as Jonah Lockwood meant nothing to Geraldine, who insisted Laurie would never have the opportunity to recognize Keith, because Keith will never see her again. When Keith protested, Geraldine threatened to ruin his political career before it ever gets off the ground. Ron told Mike and Nancy he feels there's something inconsistent about Keith's stories. Laurie wasn't especially disappointed when Keith called to cancel their date. Cookie informed Bill she's not afraid of Kate Sloane or the laughing woman. Bill realized Cookie thinks the spirits are real.
NOVEMBER 2, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,052)
Ron told Bill the best thing the Marceaus can do for Cookie is to kick her out of their home, forcing Cookie to return home with Ron. Bill unnerved Ron with the suggestion Cookie might harm herself if she's placed in the position of going home against her will. Cookie cried to Martha about being a dull, unattractive woman, then she removed her wedding ring, which she vowed never to wear again. Martha urged Cookie to be and fair and at least see Ron's side of things. Cookie complied with Martha's request by going to Adam and asking him to start divorce proceedings against Ron.

NOVEMBER 3, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,053)
Adam attempted to dissuade Cookie from divorce, but she insisted it's the only fair thing to do for Ron, who obviously would rather be married to a more attractive woman like Tiffany. Adam warned Cookie she could be charged with slander if she continues to make accusations against Tiffany. Cookie informed Adam that Ron did have an affair with Tiffany, then Cookie said she'd find another divorce attorney. Liz and Jim discussed their financial affairs, and Jim suggested Liz should sell Claybank. Keith spotted Jim and Liz lunching at the Coach House and invited himself to join them. Nancy was delighted when Laurie accepted a date with Vic after Keith canceled their dinner together. Behind Geraldine's back, Keith called Laurie to re-instate their date, but he slipped and mentioned her relationship with Vic. Laurie wondered how Keith knew so much about Vic when the two have never met.
NOVEMBER 4, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,054)
Keith lied to Laurie that Colin told him all about Vic the night Laurie attended Colin's campaign party. Laurie was astonished at Keith's remarkable memory and agreed he can call her again if he likes. Later, Laurie confided to Nancy she's unsure about whether or not she likes Keith. When Frank played a tape of the Laughing Woman again, Martha called Bill on the phone, but the laughter stopped before Bill could hear it. Frank secretly watched Martha's every movement through an air vent. Keith informed Gordon he will not marry Stacey Kendall. Gordon sided with Keith against Geraldine, but Gordon insisted Keith will need the right kind of wife before the November election. Geraldine shivered at the thought of Laurie when Keith admitted he has a vision of the perfect wife. Adam suggested to a skeptical Bill that the Marceaus hire a professional ghost-buster to prove actual spirits are not haunting the Marceau home. Bill caught a woman lurking outside the house, but it turned out to be Ceila Burns, Cookie's friend from Greenhaven.

NOVEMBER 5, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,055)
Nancy worried about Cookie, who is still missing after her meeting with Adam. Cookie arrived at the Marceau's and cried at the sight of Ceila. Martha made Cookie call a relieved Nancy. Nancy was puzzled by Cookie's cryptic remark that Ron will be fine now. As Ceila commented about what a lovely, cozy home the Marceau's have, Frank spied on them through the air vent. Kate had an idea about convincing Cookie and Martha that the Laughing Woman actually exists. Keith intruded on Vic and Laurie's dinner at the Coach House. Laurie was absolutely stunned when Keith inadvertently referred to Jim as "Crazylegs." After Keith left, Laurie told Vic she'd heard someone else use that nickname for Jim...Jonah Lockwood!
NOVEMBER 8, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,056)
Vic and Laurie speculated about how Jonah could have possibly known about Jim's naval nickname. Looking through old photo albums, Jim told Liz his mother died giving birth to his sister Dee-Dee, who was adopted by very distant relatives. Jim theorized that Dee-Dee doesn't even realize she has a brother. When talk turned to Keith, Jim admitted he tried to psychoanalyze Keith in the Navy but was frightened by what he touched. Adam informed Nicole that Cookie probably couldn't succeed in divorcing Ron if he proves she's mentally unstable. Laurie was reluctant to tell Bill about Jonah's knowledge of Jim's nickname, but Vic persuaded her to at least tell Mike. Keith dropped off a wedding gift for Liz and Jim, then subtly warned Jim to tack his medical diplomas on the wall very carefully. Jim understood the implication when Liz opened the gift to reveal a framed sampler that bore the words: "Silence is golden."

NOVEMBER 9, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,057)
An angry Liz revealed Keith's threats against Jim to Adam and Nicole. Adam advised Jim that Cookie wants to petition Ron for a divorce. Nancy noticed an uncomfortable Laurie changed the subject when Vic mentioned Jim's nickname. Cookie told Bill and Martha about her impending divorce from Ron, then Frank bristled at Cookie's comments about staying with the Marceau's forever after her divorce is final. When Frank shot down Kate's failed haunting schemes, Kate showed him an antique ball gown, which Kate assured him would make a believer out of Cookie and the Marceaus.

NOVEMBER 10, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,058)
When Bill suggested Ron will fight Cookie's divorce petition, Cookie retorted Ron will agree to anything in order to keep Tiffany's name out of the paper. Martha didn't agree when Bill told her Ron wants them to make Cookie leave, thereby forcing her to return home. Colin reluctantly agreed to Geraldine's request that he publicly endorse Keith's congressional campaign. Tiffany told Ron that Cookie might listen to her better than she does to him. Tiffany called Cookie, who agreed to allow Tiffany to visit. Martha was disturbed by Cookie's comment that Tiffany can't hurt her as long she's staying in the Marceau house.

NOVEMBER 11, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,059)
Martha worried about Cookie's meeting with Tiffany, but Cookie made Martha promise to leave them alone. Tiffany stressed to Cookie that she's completely in love with Colin and has no interest in Ron, who loves only Cookie. Cookie didn't buy Tiffany's story, then threatened to file adultery charges against Ron and name Tiffany as corespondent. Laurie reluctantly told Mike and Nancy about Jonah's knowledge of Jim's nickname, then confessed she avoided telling them because she's afraid of ever having to face Jonah again. Mike promised Laurie he'd tell Bill. Nancy was upset when Martha arrived with news of Cookie's meeting with Tiffany. Martha explained Cookie's oddly calm behavior and bizarre affinity for the Marceau home. After Tiffany left, every light in the Marceau house went out. Cookie fainted at the sight of Kate, who walked slowly down the stairs in the antique ball gown, carrying a flickering candle.
NOTE: The last act was pre-recorded.
NOVEMBER 12, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,060)
Liz feared for Jim when he confessed he knew about Keith's bigamist relationship with Suella and Stacey, a secret that could destroy the Whitney family. Keith was delighted with the outcome after meeting with the leaders of his party, and dryly commented no one in the room knew how opposed to his nomination Colin really was. Geraldine informed a happy Keith that the head of the party is certain Keith will be their next congressional candidate. Adam and Nicole dropped in to see the Fields, and Adam repeated his theory that Rosella's murder was actually an attempt on Jim's life to keep him quiet about Suella. When Liz remarked about Keith's bigamy being a nasty trick, Jim laughed that it was no worse than Keith's naval trick of putting harmless scorpions into people's shoes. Adam quietly made a connection between Keith's scorpions and Nancy's scorpion attack on St. Elenora. Adam theorized to Nicole that Keith might have been in both St. Elenora and Monticello instead of South America.

NOVEMBER 15, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,061)
Adam speculated Keith could have attempted to kill Jim in order to silence his knowledge of Keith's marriage to Suella. Nicole reminded Adam he once suspected Charles Weldon of being the killer, but Adam retorted that was before he knew that Keith Whitney-the person with the most to lose-had actually been alive then. When Colin insinuated Keith isn't fit to run for public office, Geraldine speculated Keith might change for the better if he finally gets the attention he's craved his whole life. Tiffany shocked everyone with news of her visit to see Cookie. Tiffany informed Geraldine and Colin that Cookie plans to sue Ron for divorce, but stated Cookie appears to be in control of her faculties. As Geraldine expressed her happiness at Cookie's recovery, Cookie lay unconscious on the floor at the Marceau home. Adam arranged to meet Nancy to find out more about the scorpion attack on St. Elenora. Martha revived Cookie, who told her she saw a spirit in an old-fashioned ball gown. Cookie stunned Martha by insisting she wants to contact the spirit.

NOVEMBER 16, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,062)
Cookie insisted to Bill the figure she saw was a real spirit, not Kate Sloane in disguise. Cookie declared she's a "sensitive," one who has an affinity for hearing and seeing the dead. Martha accused Cookie of wanting to believe in ghosts. Tiffany explained her conversation with Cookie to Colin, reiterating how much she loves Colin with all her heart and devotion. Tiffany promised she won't give up trying to convince Cookie that Ron loves only her, then nixed Colin's suggestion they warn Ron about Cookie's divorce action. Colin feared Keith's mysteries might now hold up to public scrutiny. Keith invited Laurie to dinner to celebrate his congressional campaign. Frank badgered Kate to rob the Marceaus since he and Kate are desperate for money.
